Kakka roti


  1. Rice Powder 2 cups
  2. Luke warm water 2 ½ cups
  3. Fennel seeds 1 tsp
  4. Green chilli 1 No.
  5. Salt As required
  6. Ginger 1 small piece
  7. Coconut grated 2 big tsp
  8. Shallots 4 Nos.
  9. Curry leaves

For curry

  1. Chicken breast 250 g
  2. Chicken liver 200 g
  3. Ginger -garlic paste 1 tsp
  4. Green chilli(chopped) 1
  5. Shallots (chopped) 5 Nos.
  6. Tomato 1 cut into small pieces
  7. Coriander powder 1 sp
  8. Chilli powder 1 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  10. Salt As required
  11. Coriander leaves. As required
  12. Garam masala. ¼ tsp


  • Coarsely grind coconut, chilli, shallots, ginger, curry leaves & fennel seeds.
    Add salt & blended mixture to the rice powder.
    Mix with enough water to get a dough.
    Keep aside for one hour.
    Make small balls out of this dough & just press in the middle.
    Cook/ steam the rice balls for 10-15mn.
    Fry onions till light golden brown.
    Add ginger- garlic paste & fry again. Add tomato and chilli
    Add the pieces of chicken breast and liver & all the masala powders.
    Add some water & cook.
    When the water is reduced remove from fire.
    Mix the steamed rice balls toss nicely
    Garnish with garam masala & coriander leaves.
