Amla or Indian Gooseberry is a power house of Vitamin C and has a lot of health benefits. It improves your immunity. It is truly called a wonder fruit.

Ingredients:Amla Raita

  1. Amla – 8 Nos
  2. Shallots-5 Nos
  3. Green Chilli- 3 nos
  4. Ginger- 1 small piece
  5. Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Curry leaves- 2 sprig
  8. Sugar-1 pinch
  9. Yogurt -1 cup
  10. coconut milk- Thick- ¾ cup
  11. Oil- 1 table spoon
  12. Mustard- 1 tsp
  13. Red Chilli- 2 Nos



  • Deseed Amla and powder it using a grinder. Pound the shallot, green chilli and ginger and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan, add oil, sputter mustard, red chilli and curry leave, add the shallot chilli and ginger mixture and sauté for 2 minute it till raw smell leave.
  • Add the amla and turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Add thick coconut milk and let it boil and become thick. Add salt to taste and a pinch of sugar.
  • Cool the mixture and add yogurt and mix well and serve it.
