Print Friendly

  • Beef – 500 gms – fine cubes
  • Button onion (Cheraya Ulli)– 1 cup
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 2 tbs
  • Chili powder – 2tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam masala – 2 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Coconut oil – 3 4 table spoon
  • Curry leaves – 2 handful
  • Fresh Coconut – ¼ cup (finely chopped)

Clean and cut the beef into fine cubes. Add chopped onion, salt, ginger garlic paste, chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, few curry leaves, chopped coconut and mix it well. Keep the mixture for few minutes and transfer to a cooker. Cook it on slow fire, wait for 12 -13 whistles, then off the fire. Wait until it is cool. Open the cooker and see the water is completely drained. The masala should cover the beef nicely. Heat the nonstick pan and add the coconut oil (it is optional, if you want you can use sun flower oil) and add the remaining curry leaves and the cooked beef.  Stir well and add the pepper powder and garam masala. Then slow the fire. Cook it for another 20 – 30 minutes or until the beef become dark brown colour. Now you transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy it as a starter or with plain rice/chappathi etc.
