Creamy green mutton Curry (Mutton Hariyali)

Ingredients:

  1. Mutton – 1 Kg
  2. Onion – 5 Nos
  3. Green chilly – 5  nos
  4. Ginger -1 small piece
  5. Garlic-2-3 pods
  6. Tomatoes – 1 No
  7. Curry leaves – 4 stalk
  8. Red chilli powder -(Kishmiri chilli)-  1/2 tsp
  9. Pepper – 1  1/2 tsp
  10. Coriander Powder – 3 tsp
  11. Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
  12. Garam masala -1/2 tsp
  13. Fennel seeds-1/2 tsp powdered
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Coconut Oil

For coriander paste

  1. Corainder leaves -1/2 cup
  2. Mint leaves          -1/2 cup
  3. Chopped onion   – 3 teaspoon

In a pan saute coriander leaves, Mint leaves and chopped onions for few minutes. Grind it together to a thick paste

Method

  • Take a thick bottom vessel ,add 3 table coconut oil
  • Add green chilli, crushed ginger,garlic and sliced onion and roast till onion turns pink or translucent.
  • Once the onion is roasted add tomatos and cook till it turns soft.
  • Add chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, pepper powder fennel seeds powder and garam masala
  • Add 1 cup of hot water and mix well. Simmer the heat and cover the pan.
  • Once the meat is cooked well add cashew paste
  • Add a pinch of garam masala and coriander leaves for flavor
  • Now add the cleaned mutton pieces to this masala and stir to fully coat the mutton pieces with the masala
  • When the meat is half cooked, open the lid and add the coriander-mint paste.
  • Once the meat is cooked well add cashew paste
  • Add a pinch of garam masala and coriander leaves for flavor
