Ingredients to make Kozhakatta (rice dumplings)

  1. Rice powder -2 cups
  2. zeera -1/2 tap
  3. Grated Coconut- ¾ cup
  4. Salt.
  5. Water

Heat  3 cups of water along with salt and zeera. When it start boiling add the rice powder and mix well and off the stove. Add coconut and mix, when it is cool enough, make to balls and stem it in a steamer.

To check if it prick it with a toothpick and check it.

For Chili fry.

  1. Onion -1 no
  2. Green chili- 1 No
  3. Garlic – 4-5 cloves
  4. Chili masala- 1 tsp
  5. Coriander leaves – 1 table spoon
  6. Oil – 1 table spoon
  7. Kuzhakatta- 10 Nos each cut to 6-8 pieces

Preparation:

Heat oil in a non stick pan, add chopped garlic, when it turns golden brown add chopped onion  and saute it for some time add the chili masala and add the  Kuzhakatta pieces and salt and nicely mix it. You can add 1 table spoon of ketchup if required and decorate it with coriander leaves and serve it hot.

Kids will love it.
