  1.  Baby potatoes – 15 Nos
  2. Garlic (Big variety) chopped– 10-15 Nos
  3. Red chilli (Kashmiri) – 15
  4. Soya sauce – 1 table spoon
  5. Sweet and sour chilli sauce – 1 table spoon
  6. Tomato Sauce- 2 table spoon
  7. Sugar – ½ tsp
  8. Vinegar- 2 table spoon
  9. Corn flour -1 table spoon
  10. Spring onion (green part) -3 table spoon
  11. Red chilli flakes -1tsp
  12. Salt – to taste
  13. Oil -3 table spoon
  14. Pepper powder -1/2 tsp


  •  Clean and boil potato for 2 whistle.
  • Soak the red chillis in hot water and grind it with little vinegar and oil into smooth paste and keep it aside
  • Heat little oil and add the skinned boiled potato and till the outer covering is slightly golden brown colour. Slowly move the pan so that all sides are golden brown and it do not break.
  • Heat a broad pan with oil, add the  chillies flakes and garlic till is light golden colour.
  • Add ground chilli paste, soya sauce, chilli and tomato sauce,  and give it a fry. Add the cooked potatoes and mix well.
  • Add enough water to immerse the potatoes, add required salt and bring to boil.
  • Add vinegar, sugar and pepper powder
  • Dilute the corn flour with little water and mix to the boiling gravy.
  • When it thickens, add the chopped spring onion and remove from fire and serve with white rice or noodles.
    • The potatoes should retain its shape and should not be overcooked.
    • You can also  fry the potatoes till golden colour in hot oil and then use in the recipe.
    • You can add cubed onions and capsicum to this recipe.
