  1. Dosa Rice/ Raw Rice/ -Matta Rice 1 cup
  2. Yellow dal -1/2 cup
  3. Fenugreek/methi seeds – 1 tsp
  4. Tamarind – lemon size
  5. Hing or asafetida 1 small piece or ½ spoon
  6. Red chillies – 4-5
  7. cumin seeds – 3-4 tsp
  8. Coconut (scrapped)- 1/2 cup (Optional)
  9. Powdered jaggery – 2-3 tbsp (Optional)
  10. Black pepper 10 Nos.
  11. Curry leaves
  12. Salt to taste


  • Soak rice,dal and methi seeds together overnight and in the morning grind it.
  • Soak tamarind in water for 15 minutes take extract and keep.
  • Now grind Red-chillies, cumin,coriander,jaggery,coconut, hing by adding tamarind extract.
  • Mix both mixture in a container by adding salt.
  • Bring it to dosa consistency by adding needed water.
  • Now keep dosa pan pour dosa as you would do for regular dosa by adding oil.
  • Dosa is ready to serve with simple coconut chutney or sambar
