Bunny chow, is a South African fast food dish consisting of a hollowed out loaf of bread filled with curry. It originated in the Durban Indian community. Here we present our version of Bunny Chow..


Bread       2 Nos. (Here we use bread what use for burgers..)  we can use the normal bread also cut into half and scooped-out the inner part

For Curry:

  1. Chicken keema ½ kg
  2. Potato 2 Nos. cut into small pieces
  3. Spices All spices including chilli, turmeric, cardamon star anise, long, cinnamon etc. (make hot little and grind to fine powder)
  4. Tomato 4 Nos.
  5. Coriander 2 spoons chopped
  6. Onion 2 Nos.
  7. Ginger 1 piece
  8. Garlic 4 cloves
  9. Green chilli 2 Nos.
  10. Oil 2 spoons
  11. Red wine 1/2 cup (Optional)


Take a pan,  make oil hot add, chopped onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli etc.. saute and add tomato and all spice powder 2 spoons. Close it and cook for 5 minutes and salt and sliced potatoes and keema add red wine.. Open the lid and cook for 15 minutes first and then close the lid and cook for ½ an hour.

Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.. Now curry is ready

Take the bread and scooped out the inner part and pour the prepared curry inside fully..

Salad for bunny chow


  1. Carrots 2 Nos.
  2. Vinegar 1 spoon
  3. Lemon ½ juice
  4. Salt As required
  5. Green chilli 6 Nos. chopped
  6. Black pepper As required
  7. Parsley Chopped


Grind carrots and mix all the other ingredients, and sprinkle chopped parsley
