Irumban puli achar | Bilimbi Pickle

  1.  Irumban puli  – 250 gm
  2. Ginger – 1 piece (chopped)
  3. Garlic – 6 cloves (chopped)
  4. Green Chilly – 3 nos (chopped)
  5. Red Chilly Powder – 2 tsp
  6. Fenugreek Powder – 1/4 tsp
  7. Asafoetida Powder – 1/4 tsp
  8. Vinegar – 5 tsp
  9. Curry Leaves – 1 string
  10. Gingelly Oil – 4 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste



Wash and cut Irumban puli long.. You can make each puli into 4 or 6 long pieces

Heat oil in a pan and fry  puli for 3 minutes. Drain and keep it aside.

Heat the same oil and then add chopped garlic, green chilly, ginger and curry leaves into it and saute for 3 minutes.

Then add red chilly powder, asafoetida powder and fenugreek powder into it and fry for a minute.

Add irumban puli, vinegar and salt into it and saute for another 3 minutes on a low flame.

Switch off the flame and allow to cool.

Tasty irumban puli Achar is ready.
