    • Clean and cut Fish (Chala, King fish, Prawns)– 10 Pieces
    • Kudampuli (Garcinia Cambogia) – 2 -3 flakes
    • Green chilly – 3-4 nos
    • Curry leaves – 2 stalk
    • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
    • Red chilli powder (Kishmiri chilli)- 1 table spoon
    • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
    • Methi powder(Uluva) – 2 pinch
    • Tomato -1 Nos
    • Garlic- 3-4 Nos sliced
    • Ginger – 1 small piece
    • Shallots – 8nos
    • Salt – as required
    • Water – 1 1/2 cup
    • Coconut oil – 2 Tbs

Preparation:
This dish is without coconut.

  • 1. Clean fish well and remove scales etc and cut into small pieces.
  • 2. Take a bowl, add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, Uluva powder and mix well add ¼ cup of water to it and make it into a paste.
  • 3. Take a bowl add the Kudampuli and soak it for few minutes. Throw the water and add 1 cup lukewarm water and let it soak for few minutes.
  • 3. Take a chatti, add 2 table spoon oil to it. Add curry leaves , Shallot slices, ginger slices, garlic slice and fry for few minutes.
  • 4. Add the masala paste and stir well till raw smell go away.
  • 5. Add the tomato pieces and mix well. Let the oil separate.
  • 6. To this mixture the soaked Kodampuli along with water and salt. Let it boil.
  • 7. Once it is boiled add the fish pieces and green chili. There should be enough water to cover the fish and let it cook in a medium flame.
  • 8. Rotate the clay pot with both hands using cloth/oven mittens gently thereby mixing the fish and masalas well. Using a spoon might break the fish pieces. Allow it to boil. Cover and cook till done. Rotate the clay pot twice or thrice in between cooking as done in the above step.
  • 9. Once cooked and the gravy thicken, transfer to a serving dish, decorate with curry leaves and serve along with rice.
